Dr. Hau was born in Hong Kong and moved to Vancouver at a young age of 7. After completing his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University, Dr. Hau started his journey in Dentistry when he became involved in the Oral Cancer Prevention Program at the BC Cancer Agency. He then pursued a Master’s of Science in Craniofacial Science at University of British Columbia and eventually completing his Dental degree at the University of New England.
One of the highlights prior to starting his DMD degree, Dr. Hau was involved with a peer support men’s wellness program focusing on building supportive relationships while also promoting health wellness and Canadian Indigenous culture. Dr. Hau is very grateful for this experience as it broadened his perspectives on mental wellness and serving vulnerable populations.
Dr. Hau is a strong believer in continuing education and evidence based research. He has published in research journals and presented at national conferences relating to Oral Cancer, Oral Health and Mental Wellness. Dr. Hau not only focuses on delivering quality dentistry but also building relationships with patients and educating them about their oral health.
Making each dental visit a fun and positive environment for his patients is always one of Dr. Hau’s top priority.
